Two planes explode after colliding at US airport, injuries reported

At Kalispell City Airport in Montana, US, two planes collided on the runway, after which one caught fire, according to KBZK.
A plane crash involving two aircraft occurred on Monday, August 11, at Kalispell City Airport in Montana, US.
According to Kalispell fire chief Jay Hagan, a small plane on approach experienced technical problems, causing it to collide with a stationary aircraft already on a taxiway.
The moving aircraft caught fire on impact. Witnesses reported hearing an explosion and seeing thick black smoke rising above the runway. The flames then quickly spread to a nearby grassy area.
Fire and rescue crews from Kalispell, Evergreen, Smith Valley, and Whitefish responded promptly to the scene.
The incident led to a temporary shutdown of the airport, with police cordoning off the surrounding area.
Hagan said there were four people on board the plane involved in the crash, all of whom managed to exit the aircraft on their own. Official reports say two of them sustained injuries.
The stationary aircraft had no one on board at the time of the collision.
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has taken over the investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
