Polish President Karol Nawrocki stated that there can never be any agreements with Russia, according to Nawrocki’s speech, published by the head of the Polish president’s chancellery, Zbigniew Bogucki, on the social network X.

Karol Nawrocki spoke during a ceremony marking Cadet Officers’ Day on the 195th anniversary of the start of the November Uprising.

"Historical events also offer a lesson for modern Poland and Poles: there are no agreements with the Muscovites in the 19th century, in the 20th century, or in the 21st century. There are only lies, the desire to break their spirit, and the desire to destroy. This is a lesson we must all learn, with deep faith in Polish cadets, officers, and generals," the Polish president said.

Nawrocki's position on Russia

Polish President Karol Nawrocki decided to cancel a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán after he visited Vladimir Putin.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha commented that Warsaw had made "a truly good decision." It clearly demonstrates Poland’s principled stance in the current situation.

During his visit to Prague, Nawrocki also stated that he is waiting for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Warsaw and expressed hope that he will accept the invitation.

In addition, President Karol Nawrocki criticized the US "peace plan," noting that any peace proposals must first be approved by Ukraine and must not reward the aggressor.

Nawrocki added that all proposals for ending Russia’s war against Ukraine must take into account one crucial fact: Russia is a state that does not honor agreements and does not keep its word.
