Russian forces searching for weak spots after halting operations near Pokrovsk, expert says
The Russian army has suspended the operation in the Pokrovsk direction. However, the Russian forces continue to look for weak spots for an offensive, said the military expert Mykhailo Zhyrokhov in a commentary to the RBC-Ukraine.
"After halting their operation, they (the Russian forces - ed.) started looking for weak spots along the frontline and redeploying forces there. Right now, they have intensified their activity significantly in the Lyman direction and also greatly increased their activity near Vuhledar," the expert explained.
Zhyrokhov mentioned that the Russian forces have now begun to actively use guided bombs (KABs).
"The support for KABs is enormous. Yesterday, KABs were hitting positions every fifteen minutes. This is leading to some territorial losses," he noted.
In recent days, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operation in the Kursk region has deprived Russia of the ability to maneuver in the Pokrovsk direction.
According to Forbes, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have begun to counterattack the Russian troops near Pokrovsk.
RBC-Ukraine also recently visited Pokrovsk. More on the situation in this frontline city can be found in our report.
