Russia begins economizing on its war against Ukraine. In particular, the Russian forces have increased the use of Shahed strike drones and their cheaper analogs, as well as Kh-69 missiles, this was shared with RBC-Ukraine's YouTube channel by aviation expert and Deputy General Director of a company specializing in EW systems, Anatolii Khrapchynskyi.

"The ability to launch cruise missiles exists, but they use Shaheds, creating decoy targets to overload our air defense forces. What does this indicate? It shows that Russia is starting to economize on the war," said Khrapchynskyi.

He noted that the Russian forces are also actively using Kh-69 missiles. This suggests that Russia understands that using strategic bombers with missiles that can fly up to 4,000 kilometers is an expensive resource.

"Especially since it is needed for Russia in case of a real Third World War when they would need to strike the US, Europe, or the 'decision-making centers,' as they like to say. Therefore, it is important to understand that Russia is trying to save resources, which is why we are seeing an increase in the use of strike drones like the Shahed, its analogs — Gerbera, or even unknown drones made of plywood," the expert added.

Attack on Ukraine on November 11

On the night of November 11, Russia attacked Ukraine with 74 Shahed-type strike drones and drones of unspecified types. The Russian army also launched two Kh-59/69 guided air missiles.

Air defense forces managed to destroy two Kh-59/69 guided air missiles and 39 drones in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Sumy, and several other regions.
