Russia strikes Ukraine with 74 drones and 2 missiles overnight: Air defense's work reported
On the night of November 11, Russia attacked Ukraine with 74 Shahed-type attack unmanned aerial vehicles, unidentified drones, and 2 Kh-59/69 guided missiles, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Last night, Russia launched:
- 2 Kh-59/69 guided missiles from the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia region;
- 74 Shahed drones and unidentified drones from the areas of Russian Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Orel, and Bryansk.
Anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces were involved in repelling the Russian air attack.
As of 9:30 a.m., the downing of 2 Russian Kh-59/69 guided missiles and 39 drones in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Sumy, and several other regions was confirmed.
30 Russian drones were lost in different regions of Ukraine. 3 more drones left Ukrainian airspace in the direction of Belarus and the temporarily occupied territory.
Russian shelling of Ukraine
Last night, Russia also practiced tactics of simulated missile launches. According to Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Russia is now ready for massive shelling of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, aviation systems expert Kostiantyn Kryvolap explained whether Russia can deplete Ukrainian air defense forces through constant massive drone attacks.
