Russians are likely preparing for a new massive strike on Ukraine. The enemy might once again attack civilian infrastructure, states Oleksandr Musiienko, Head of the Сenter of Military Law Researches, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine’s YouTube channel.

He noted that the drone attack on a missile warehouse in Toropets, Tver region, would weaken Russia in certain directions and reduce the enemy's capabilities for missile strikes.

"And this is a success. It will delay some attacks because it is clear that Russia is preparing for a large-scale strike," Musiienko added.

According to him, following the statement by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service alleging that Ukraine is supposedly preparing strikes on its own hospitals, there is a likelihood of another Russian terrorist act.

"I mean attacks and their criminal actions as we saw against Okhmatdyt. I suspect that the enemy might strike our medical facilities and other civilian infrastructure to try to break our resistance and sow demoralization," the expert clarified.

However, Musiienko emphasized that Ukrainian defenders are using attacks on the Engels, and Olenya airfields, and Russian ammunition depots to prevent Russia from conducting further strikes and buying time for the supply of air defense systems.

What preceded this

The last massive missile strike on Ukraine was carried out by the Russians on August 26. The attack damaged energy infrastructure, leading to emergency power outages across the country.

In total, the enemy launched over 200 aerial targets at Ukraine, including missiles of various types and Shahed drones.
