It is crucial that US President Donald Trump does not fall into a trap set by Russian President Vladimir Putin, as the Kremlin leader aims to undermine transatlantic and European unity, Ukrainian MP and Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, Oleksandr Merezhko, stated this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine's YouTube channel.

"Right now, only Putin is rejoicing. His goal is to destroy unity and stability within Europe and the transatlantic alliance. That’s why he is pleased with this situation. This must be understood. It is crucial that the US president himself does not fall into a trap set by Putin," Merezhko said.

He noted that Ukraine must continue working, believing, and strengthening unity with the US, within Europe, and inside the country.

"Zelenskyy is not just a president; he has become a symbol of our resistance in the eyes of the world. We understand that the narrative about holding elections during wartime before martial law is lifted is something Putin is pushing through someone in Trump’s administration. Perhaps this is part of the deal Putin is trying to make with Trump. It is important to explain why this is dangerous. Trump must understand this," the MP emphasized.

Suspension of US aid to Ukraine

Media reports, citing a White House official, stated today that the administration of US President Donald Trump has suspended all military aid deliveries to Ukraine.

The decision affects ammunition, vehicles, and other equipment, including supplies previously approved during the tenure of US President Joe Biden.

Later, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on the suspension of US military aid to Ukraine, noting that reports from the border, particularly from the Polish hub in Jasionka, confirm the White House’s decision.

Meanwhile, US House Speaker Mike Johnson stated that the halt in American weapons shipments to Ukraine is a temporary pause. Ukraine and the US are expected to sign a minerals agreement.
