Tusk confirms halt of US aid shipments to Ukraine via Polish hub

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that reports from the border confirm the information about the US terminating military aid to Ukraine. The government will have to take emergency measures, according to Polska Agencja Prasowa and The Guardian.
Donald Tusk commented on the termination of US military aid to Ukraine, noting that reports from the border coming from the Polish hub in Jasionka confirm the information about the White House's decision.
In his opening remarks, Tusk emphasized that Europe is facing “unprecedented” risks that could be among the biggest in decades, especially in the security context.
He called on the ministers of his coalition government to put aside party differences, as “extraordinary” measures may be needed shortly.
He noted that the US decision to suspend military aid to Ukraine and the possible revision of sanctions against Russia put Europe in a difficult position.
Tusk added that reports from the Polish-Ukrainian border and the logistics hub in Rzeszów-Jasionka confirm the US decision was implemented, which worsens the situation for Ukraine and Poland.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Tusk said that Poland is ready to step up its activities in Europe to strengthen its defense capabilities, while not forgetting the importance of maintaining good transatlantic relations and cooperation with the United States.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump has decided to suspend military aid to Ukraine, including ammunition, vehicles, and other equipment that were approved during Joe Biden's presidency, as Western media reported with reference to sources in the White House.
