The statement by the Russian army claiming that it had captured the village of Ternuvate in the Zaporizhzhia region does not reflect reality. The settlement remains under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to a comment from Southern Defense Forces spokesperson Vladyslav Voloshyn.

According to him, the Russian troops spread information claiming they had occupied Ternuvate. In reality, this is false. The settlement, Voloshyn noted, is located about fifteen kilometers from the frontline.

"The enemy used their favorite infiltration tactic here. A few days ago, an enemy sabotage group, taking advantage of difficult weather conditions, secretly entered the village," he explained.

The Russian forces even managed to film several locations from a drone where they had raised flags. However, within an hour, the Defense Forces were already in the village. As a result of reconnaissance and search operations, part of the Russian sabotage group was eliminated, and the remaining members were captured using ground-based robotic systems.

Recently, Russian forces have been actively redeploying their "elite" airborne units to the Orikhiv direction in the Zaporizhzhia region. This indicates that they have suffered heavy losses there.

Voloshyn previously said that the Russian troops have been gathering personnel at forward positions for some time in order to launch assault operations toward Orikhiv. This is one of the key directions for Russia, as it plans to intensify its offensive in the Zaporizhzhia region in 2026.
