Ukrainian defenders are actively striking enemy supply routes leading to the Kinburn Spit. However, it is still too early to say that Russian forces have withdrawn from the area, stated Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.

Voloshyn noted that land access to the Kinburn Spit is provided by two roads — one paved and one dirt road, which becomes impassable during bad weather.

He added that Ukrainian forces are currently trying to establish fire control over logistics routes in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region, including roads leading to the Kinburn Spit. As a result, the movement of military transport in the area has become more difficult.

"Enemy units are indeed trying to hide from our drone strikes and conceal some of their positions. But it’s too early to say Russia is leaving the spit. Rotation activities are currently taking place among Russian units stationed there and carrying out their tasks," the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces emphasized.

According to him, the Russian military’s 78th Separate Motor Rifle Regiment of the 58th Army has arrived on the Kinburn Spit, replacing the 137th Airborne Regiment of the 106th Airborne Division.

"Of course, it would be very good if they left the area. But they are not planning to leave at all. Therefore, efforts will be needed to destroy and push them out of the Kinburn Spit," Voloshyn said.

Rumors about the Kinburn Spit

Earlier, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that Russia was allegedly withdrawing troops from the northern and western parts of the Kinburn Spit.

Analysts, citing the ATESH partisan movement, suggested this is happening after Ukrainian soldiers cut off Russian supply routes to the spit.

However, there has been no official confirmation from Ukrainian military sources regarding these claims.
