Russian forces are unlikely to capture Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region before winter. And if the Ukrainian Armed Forces have enough weaponry and personnel, the invaders will not be able to take the city at all, states Andrii Otchenash, the crew commander of the Kara Nebesna (Heavenly Punishment ) unmanned aerial vehicle complexes of the Rubizh 4th Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel.

"Look at Chasiv Yar, some experts said it would be captured in a month, and others said Kyiv would be taken in three days, but reasonable experts would say the Russians would take something else... So, I am more than confident that Kupiansk will definitely hold out until winter. God willing, it will hold out through the whole winter and beyond," said Otchenash.

In his opinion, it is too early to talk about negative scenarios for Kupiansk. Ukrainian forces are doing everything possible to destroy the enemy.

"If there are proper reinforcements, if the Defense Forces have proper weaponry, the enemy will not be able to capture Kupiansk and will not be able to capture many other cities. Considering the severe personnel shortage in the Defense Forces, including in the Rubizh brigade, the situation is complicated and will continue to worsen," the military officer noted.

Situation near Kupiansk

Recently, Ukrainian forces repelled a large-scale enemy attack on Kupiansk. During the assault, some Russian soldiers dressed in Ukrainian military uniforms to divert attention and launched their attack in four waves.

Later, the DeepState service reported that after the assaults, some Russian troops scattered into houses in Kupiansk. According to local authorities, the Russian soldiers were eliminated, and they failed to establish a foothold in the city.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also stated that the information about the supposed presence of Russian troops in Kupiansk is inaccurate.
