Can Russia launch 300-500 drones at Ukraine at once? Expert analysis
Russian troops can launch 300-500 Shahed attack drones at Ukraine at once. However, only if they have enough launchers and people to program the drones, stated military expert Mykhailo Zhyrokhov in a commentary for the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel.
"They can (launch 300-500 drones – ed.), but it all comes down to the number of launchers. These Shaheds are not launched from airfields; they are launched from specialized launchers. It also depends on the number of people involved in programming these Shaheds, and that’s it," Zhyrohov said.
He noted that Russia is now changing its tactics, trying to launch Shaheds 24/7.
"If earlier it was only at night, now we see launches during the day and in the evening as well. This is to keep the air defense systems under constant strain and, of course, to ensure fewer drones are shot down," the expert explained.
Attack on Ukraine on November 26
Last night, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine using four Iskander-M missiles from the Voronezh and Kursk regions, along with 188 drones, including Shahed models and unidentified types, from multiple directions: Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
This marked a record number of drones launched by Russia against Ukraine.
Ukrainian air defense forces successfully shot down 76 enemy drones.
