A meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and European leaders may take place in The Hague following the NATO Summit, states Rikard Jozwiak, Europe editor for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, on Twitter (X).

The journalist noted that a Ukraine-NATO Council meeting at the highest level is not planned for the summit in The Hague.

"While there won't be a formal NATO-Ukraine Council at leaders' level at next week's NATO summit, there are plans for a meeting with Zelenskiy, Rutte, and other European leaders in the Hague directly after the NATO summit," Jozwiak reported.

Zelenskyy invited to NATO Summit

The upcoming NATO Summit will take place in The Hague, Netherlands, on June 24–25. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also been invited to the meeting and has personally confirmed his attendance.

However, as reported today by The Times, Zelenskyy has been invited to the summit with a change in diplomatic status — allegedly to avoid any awkward encounters with US President Donald Trump.

A source in the Ukrainian presidential office confirmed that Zelenskyy was expected to participate in person at the summit. The Ukrainian president is also scheduled to attend a dinner hosted by the King of the Netherlands on Tuesday evening.

According to media reports, Zelenskyy is currently planning to take part in the NATO Summit in person on June 24–25 in The Hague, though a final decision will be made closer to the event.
