Zelenskyy warns Russian pilots: Ukrainian air defense grows stronger
Every Russian pilot must make a clear choice for themselves whether to continue participating in the war, as the Ukrainian air defense will only grow stronger, according to a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Yesterday, on Christmas Eve, our warriors shot down nearly 30 Shaheds, several missiles, and two more Russian military aircraft. All in one evening! In total, five 'Su' aircraft were shot down in the week before Christmas. And this is really impressive" the statement reads.
The President has noted that everyone contributing to such results in our Air Force, including our anti-aircraft gunners, mobile fire groups, air defense units, and Ground Forces, is simply outstanding. He thanked them for this achievement.
"Every Russian pilot must make a clear choice whether to continue participating in this war. Our air defense will become increasingly powerful. Especially when we receive additional systems that have already been agreed upon, including F-16s," adds the President of Ukraine.
Destruction of Russian military aircraft
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian air defense forces shot down a Russian Su-34 bomber and Su-30 fighter aircraft yesterday.
Additionally, on December 22nd, the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, announced that Ukrainian military personnel had downed three Russian Su-34 aircraft on the southern front. He noted that this was a response from defenders to the night drone attack.
The Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security stated that the Ukrainian air defense forces exceeded their success in neutralizing enemy aviation in the Bryansk region.
