President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting today with Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov. They discussed the first steps of the renewed government, according to Zelenskyy's statement.

They detailed the tasks for the next six months.

"The key priorities are: increasing domestic weapons production in Ukraine, fully contracting the required volumes of all types of drones for Ukraine’s Defense Forces," Zelenskyy wrote.

He also believes that significant deregulation is necessary, as well as the release of Ukraine's internal economic potential. The discussion also covered the full implementation of social support programs for Ukrainians.

"We defined the results that can be achieved within the first half-year of the new Government’s work," the president emphasized.

Government reshuffle

The government reshuffle in Ukraine will take place this week. Yesterday, Zelenskyy proposed that First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko head the government. If the Verkhovna Rada supports the appointment, she will replace Denys Shmyhal, who has led the government the longest in Ukraine’s history, since March 2020. According to Zelenskyy, Shmyhal will head the Ministry of Defense.

Changes in the government structure are also planned, as it is expected that three ministries — the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, and the Ministry of Ecology — will be merged.
