US President Donald Trump said he is not concerned about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s attempts to "buy time" for himself. In Trump’s view, there is nothing to worry about in this, according to the broadcast of the meeting between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Washington on October 17.

Specifically, one journalist asked Trump whether he was concerned that the Russian leader was simply trying to "buy time" for himself.

"I am. But, you know, I've been played all my life by the best of them, and I came out really well. So, it's possible, yeah, a little time. It's all right," he said.

Meanwhile, according to media reports, European leaders are seeking ways to influence Trump ahead of the summit with Putin in Budapest. They fear that Trump’s stance could undermine Western unity in supporting Ukraine.

In addition, the German government has openly expressed deep skepticism about the possibility of a Trump-Putin summit. In Berlin, officials questioned both whether the talks would actually take place and whether they would produce any positive outcome.

After a two-hour conversation with Putin on October 16, Trump announced a new summit with Putin. It is known that the meeting will take place in Budapest, Hungary, within the next two weeks.
