Zelenskyy to visit Croatia to participate in Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit
Today, October 9, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will arrive in Croatia to participate in the Ukraine - Southeast Europe summit. The meeting will take place in Dubrovnik, citing Index.
The event was organized by Zelenskyy in cooperation with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
This is the third summit in this format: the first took place in Athens in August 2022, and the second in February 2024 in Tirana.
The main goal of the Dubrovnik meeting is to demonstrate the solidarity of the region's countries with Ukraine, which has been resisting Russian aggression for over two and a half years.
The event also gathers high-ranking officials from the region, including Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar, Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, as well as the prime ministers of Greece, Bulgaria, Albania, North Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ukraine - Southeast Europe summit
The previous Ukraine - Southeast Europe summit took place on February 28, 2024, in Athens, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was in attendance.
Leaders from Serbia, Moldova, Montenegro, Greece, Romania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Croatia participated in that summit.
In September, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković announced that Croatia would be the next host of the Ukraine - Southeast Europe summit, set to take place in October.
