Zelenskyy tells how Russia hides losses among North Korean troops
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted video evidence showing how Russian forces, in an attempt to conceal casualties among North Korean soldiers involved in the fighting against Ukraine's Defense Forces, have been burning the bodies of these soldiers, according to his Telegram channel.
"Even after years of war, when it seems that there can be no more cynicism from the Russians, we still see something worse," said the President.
The Ukrainian leader explained that Russia not only involves North Korean soldiers in assaults on Ukrainian positions but also attempts to conceal the losses of these individuals.
"There were efforts to keep the presence of North Korean soldiers a secret. While they were being trained, they were even prohibited from showing their faces," he said.
According to the Ukrainian president, Russian forces attempted to delete any video evidence of the presence of North Korean soldiers.
"And now, after the battles with our guys, the Russians are also trying... literally to burn the faces of the killed North Korean soldiers. This is a display of the contempt that prevails in Russia right now - contempt for everything humane," Zelenskyy emphasized.
The president stressed that this madness must be stopped.
"It must be stopped with a reliable and lasting peace and by holding Russia accountable for this cynical war," the President said.
In his evening address on December 16, President Zelenskyy reported that Russia had started using North Korean soldiers in the fighting in the Kursk region. The president noted that the North Korean soldiers had already suffered casualties.
Additionally, on December 17, the Pentagon also confirmed that among the North Korean soldiers sent to the Kursk region, there were both fatalities and injuries.
