Zelenskyy: Situation in Zaporizhzhia direction has improved

Ukrainian forces are maintaining the situation in the Zaporizhzhia direction. It has already improved there, states Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
"It's important that we are maintaining the situation in the Zaporizhzhia region. It is better," said Zelenskyy.
He also added that Russia had been delaying the rotation of the IAEA mission at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
"You know, in the Zaporizhzhia direction, there was a bridge where these rotations were taking place because this bridge was a contact bridge, so to speak, between our forces and the enemy. And now, the fact that the Russians did not want and were delaying the rotation of the IAEA mission because we have advanced forward. They want to continue the rotation on that same bridge," the president noted.
According to Zelenskyy, the most difficult situation is currently in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions, where the enemy has concentrated all its efforts.
"We understand where they want to carry out offensive operations and where they are increasing the number of troops," the head of state added.
Situation in the Zaporizhzhia direction
In October 2024, several media outlets reported on the preparation by the Russian forces for a large-scale offensive on the Zaporizhzhia region, mentioning a supposed threat to the city of Zaporizhzhia.
Later, it became known that the enemy had advanced in the area of the settlement of Levadne in the Zaporizhzhia region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed the information but emphasized that this did not pose a threat to the front.
At the end of November, the Defense Forces reported that the Russian troops had intensified their activities in the Zaporizhzhia region. However, the enemy’s accumulated forces would not be enough for a major offensive.
At the same time, it should be noted that in recent weeks, the number of battles and enemy attacks in the Zaporizhzhia direction has significantly decreased.
