Russian forces have intensified assault operations in the Vremivka direction. However, in general, in the Zaporizhzhia region, they have concentrated their forces not for an offensive but for an attempt to breach the defenses of the Ukrainian military, stated the spokesperson of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.

According to him, the Russian army has intensified assault operations in the Vremivka direction, using small infantry groups, which are sometimes supported by armored vehicles and armored groups.

"However, this is not so much an attempt to launch an offensive. This is to constantly carry out assault operations, trying to break into our positions, attempting to seize our positions. But the Defense Forces are mostly repelling all these assaults and working to stabilize the frontline," Voloshyn explained.

He also noted that Russian forces carry out about 20 assaults daily in this direction. They are actively trying to reach Velyka Novosilka, the largest settlement in the region, to fully capture the Donetsk region under their control.

Situation in the Zaporizhzhia region

In October, several media outlets reported that Russian forces might be planning a large-scale offensive to gain control over Zaporizhzhia. The Russian army intensified airstrikes on the city, using guided bombs.

There were also reports online about the Russian forces capturing the village of Levadne in the Zaporizhzhia region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed enemy advances in that direction.

According to a spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, Russia has concentrated around 200,000 troops in southern Ukraine, including occupying forces in Crimea.
