Ukraine will in no way be involved in the diesel deal recently concluded between US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with the Financial Times.
“So it's the choice of President Trump. So we don't want to be involved on some... of some things. The diesel deal... I don't want to be in war. If he attack us, we will respond. This is our rule. Don't involve us to some diesel deals,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
If the US asked Ukraine for help in the current situation, Kyiv would not refuse, since Washington is its ally.
“If you ask us to help with the situation, of course, like the partners we will help. But we are asking you - so energy ceasefire - if not energy ceasefire, it doesn't depend on you, OK” Zelenskyy added.
He also said that he had asked the US for Patriot missiles to protect the civilian population from Russian strikes. But he received something he hadn’t expected instead.
“It's fair if you will give me with what to defend. It's the minimum what I ask. No? I think yes. And when I'm asking this, your answer is blocking Starlink,” Zelenskyy said indignantly.
Trump is close to deciding to halt the exchange of intelligence with Ukraine.
He also derailed the agreement on expanded security guarantees for Ukraine.
