Today, representatives from the US, Europe, and Ukraine held talks in the United Kingdom. Kyiv's arguments were acknowledged, and security risks are under review, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He said the Ukrainian delegation, including Head of the President's Office Andrii Yermak, had just reported from the UK.

"There were security talks involving representatives from the United States of America and Europe: Ukraine, the US Vice President, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Finland, and Poland. The meeting was constructive. We conveyed all our signals. Our arguments are being heard. The risks are being taken into account," Zelenskyy said.

He stressed that the path to peace must be decided together with Ukraine. This is non-negotiable.

Zelenskyy added that unified approaches and shared goals are essential for lasting peace.

"A consolidated position. Ceasefire. End of occupation. End of war. Thanks to everyone who is with us, who is with Ukraine!" Zelenskyy concluded.

What else Zelenskyy said

In the same address, Zelenskyy accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of trying to repeat the Crimea scenario. Putin seeks to trade a pause in the war for keeping control over the occupied lands.

Zelenskyy warned that Ukraine is preparing to respond firmly to prevent the country’s division.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump announced a meeting with Putin in Alaska on August 15. The Ukraine war and its resolution are expected to be key topics.

Before this, Trump suggested a territory swap between Ukraine and Russia might be possible.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Putin reportedly agreed to a ceasefire if Ukraine withdrew troops from the Donetsk region.

Later, German outlet Bild said Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff misunderstood Putin. Initial reports suggested Russia would pull forces from the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia region. But it turned out the withdrawal would be from Ukrainian forces.

On the morning of August 9, Zelenskyy posted a video message affirming Ukraine will never give up its territories to Russian forces.
