The United States has responded to a letter sent by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to his American counterpart, Donald Trump, Ukrainian presidential adviser Dmytro Lytvyn told journalists.

"Yes. The response is technical and still being processed. We are not disclosing details," he said.

The day after sending the letter, Zelenskyy told journalists that he had personally met with congressmen and senators who visited Ukraine.

According to the President, they supported the proposals addressed to Congress and the White House.

On May 27, Volodymyr Zelenskyy sent an urgent letter to Donald Trump and Congress over a critical shortage of air defense systems amid intensified Russian attacks.

In the appeal, the Ukrainian President stressed that the lack of air defense capabilities poses a serious threat to civilians, as Ukraine does not have sufficient means to intercept ballistic missiles.

Zelenskyy also stated in the letter that on the night of May 24, Russia used two Oreshnik ballistic missiles. According to him, one missile struck the Kyiv region, while the other fell in the Russian-occupied part of the Donetsk region.

The President later explained the reasons for the appeal, emphasizing that the situation requires urgent decisions. He said there is no time for delay, especially ahead of the winter period.
