Zelenskyy’s office responds to new Kremlin statement on possible meeting with Putin

Russia’s uncertainty regarding a leaders-level meeting with Ukraine appears to be a stalling tactic to prolong the war, according to Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, on Telegram.
"Peskov’s statement (referring to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov – ed.) about a 'possible' meeting looks like yet another stalling tactic, as it contains no specifics," Yermak emphasized.
He reminded that Ukraine is ready for a leaders-level meeting, and that Ukraine’s partners support this position.
Yermak also thanked US President Donald Trump for his consistency and his willingness to help bring such a meeting closer.
"If the issue is just about preparations, that’s definitely not on us — we’re ready even now. But endless talk of 'not ruling it out' without a specific date is unacceptable," the head of the President’s Office stressed.
What Peskov said
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov previously claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin "does not rule out" a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, such a meeting could take place if the "necessary work" is carried out at the expert level.
Notably, Putin had earlier stated that he was supposedly ready for peace talks with Ukraine — but only on his own terms.
