Zelenskyy's meeting with Trump could revive peace talks, FT reports

The meeting between the Ukrainian and US presidents could revive negotiations to end the war and significantly improve Ukraine's chances of securing additional military aid, the Financial Times reports.
According to advisers to Volodymyr Zelenskyy and sources within the US administration, the meeting represents the best opportunity since the start of Donald Trump's second term to restore active US military support for Ukraine.
Confidence is growing in Kyiv that the US president has become more receptive to Ukraine's position and diplomatic initiatives.
According to the report, the Ukrainian delegation's main objective is to convince Trump that continued support for Ukraine is directly in the United States' national interest.
One of Ukraine's key arguments is the strategic benefit for Washington: supporting Ukraine's resistance strengthens the United States' position on the global stage.
Another argument focuses on Trump's desire to be associated with success, particularly by linking him to a potential victory and the resolution of a major global crisis.
"If Zelenskyy keeps it simple and does not overcomplicate things, it will go fine," a source familiar with preparations for the talks said.
As previously reported, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet Donald Trump today at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time (4:30 p.m. Kyiv time). The meeting will be closed to the press and held behind closed doors.
It is worth noting that Donald Trump has recently become noticeably more favorable toward the Ukrainian leader. As it turns out, this shift was influenced by both events and specific individuals.
