US President Donald Trump has indeed begun to take a more favorable view of Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy. As it turns out, this shift was influenced by both events and specific individuals, according to The Wall Street Journal.
According to insiders, the White House leader is currently expressing optimism regarding Ukraine and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
First and foremost, Trump is impressed by his Ukrainian counterpart’s resilience amid the war with Russia. Moreover, he is thrilled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ campaign of long-range strikes against Russia.
Interestingly, the US President has also taken an interest in Ukraine’s drone industry. This came after he witnessed its effectiveness during the war in the Middle East.
One source says Trump loves winners, and, in the US President’s view, Zelenskyy is increasingly beginning to look like just that—a winner.
Moreover, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk also influenced the US leader’s change in stance. Their meeting took place before a UFC fight night at the White House. Insiders claim that Usyk told the US President that Ukrainians are fighters and winners.
The boxer also told Trump about his family’s life during the Russian strikes on Kyiv and stated that the differences between Ukrainians and Russians lie in the mind and heart.
In addition, the US President has discussed Ukraine several times with far-right activist and his favorite blogger, Laura Loomer.
Although she had previously been a vocal critic of Kyiv, she has now sharply changed her position and sided with Ukraine.
Zelenskyy and Trump will meet at the White House on July 28. The time of their meeting has already been announced.
Moreover, the Ukrainian President has revealed his top priority in negotiations with his American counterpart.
Recently, Laura Loomer, the US President's favorite blogger, explained her change of position on Ukraine.
