Zelenskyy: Russia uses over 500 drones and 800 bombs in week to attack Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia has used approximately 800 guided bombs (KABs) and more than 500 drones in attacks on Ukraine in the past week, along with launching over 20 missiles.
"Every day, Russian terrorists strike our cities and communities," Zelenskyy said.
"Over the past week, Russian terrorists have launched more than 20 missiles of various types against Ukraine, around 800 guided bombs, and over 500 attack drones of different models."
The president emphasized that a united international front is essential to counter this targeted terror.
"Ukraine needs more air defense systems and long-range capabilities. I am grateful to all partners who understand this and support us," he added.
Russian attack on Ukraine
On the night of October 20, Russian forces targeted Ukraine with dozens of drones and ballistic missiles. In particular, a missile strike in Kryvyi Rih injured 17 people.
Additionally, on the morning of October 20, Russian troops attacked an energy facility in the Sumy region, leaving more than 100 settlements without electricity.
It’s also worth noting that Russia attempted to attack the Ukrainian capital overnight. Ukrainian air defense shot down about ten drones on the outskirts of Kyiv, which Russian troops used in the night attack. In total, the invaders launched two ballistic missiles and 49 drones at Ukraine.
