Zelenskyy: Russia fired nearly 50 missiles and deployed thousands of drones and bombs on Ukraine last week

Over the past week, Russia carried out more than 3,270 drone strikes against Ukraine, dropped 1,370 guided aerial bombs, and launched nearly 50 missiles of various types - President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote about this on Telegram.
The head of state emphasized that, despite all of Ukraine’s diplomatic efforts and numerous attempts to negotiate a ceasefire, it is Russia that continues to deliberately delay the peace process and escalate terror against the civilian population.
"Ukraine has never sought war. We agreed to an unconditional ceasefire and offered the world ways to stop attacks on land, in the air, and at sea. But it is Russia that constantly stalls this process — manipulating, dragging out negotiations, and terrorizing our people," Zelenskyy said.
The president stressed that Russian aggression cannot be stopped "through words alone," as Moscow responds only to force. He added that Ukraine, together with its partners, is continuously strengthening its air defense system — through the PURL program, investments in the domestic defense-industrial complex, and international cooperation frameworks.
"You cannot stop Putin with words — pressure is required. Ukraine will not reward terrorists for their crimes," the president said.
Zelenskyy also emphasized that Ukraine relies on continued support from its allies, so that strengthened defense and joint pressure on the Kremlin will ultimately force Russia to end the war.
Strikes on Ukraine
Earlier, President Zelenskyy stated that problems with electricity amid new Russian attacks could continue. In recent weeks, Russian forces have carried out a series of strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
Last night, Russian drones attacked the city of Shakhtarsk in Dnipropetrovsk region. Ten people were injured, residential buildings and vehicles were destroyed, and large-scale fires broke out.
According to the Air Force, during the night, the Russian army launched 62 attack drones across Ukrainian territory. Most of them were successfully shot down.
