Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has working relations with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, Zelenskyy said in an interview with Le Monde.

According to Zelenskyy, he has "working relations" with Trump, as they both want to end Russia's war against Ukraine.

"We have working relations with President Trump. We want this war to end. Everyone knows that he wants to end Russia's war against Ukraine. We want this too," he said.

The head of state also wants Washington to exert stronger pressure on Moscow.

"As for the situation on the front, we would like the United States to exert greater pressure on Russia, to speak frankly. I believe this pressure is insufficient. Not only from the United States, but also from Europe, although Moscow today, unfortunately, does not really care about Europe," he added.

Zelenskyy emphasized that a policy of lifting sanctions, in whatever form it is carried out, does not contribute to pressure on Moscow.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly expressed complaints about the lack of results in Ukraine's negotiations with Russia and stated dissatisfaction with Zelenskyy's position on ending the war.

According to Trump, the Ukrainian side is allegedly losing leverage, while the Kremlin is demonstrating readiness for dialogue.

Recently, Trump once again expressed surprise that the Ukrainian president allegedly does not want to conclude a peace deal, while Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready for it.
