Zelenskyy reveals Trump meeting date and shares expectations for Harris talks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with US presidential candidate Donald Trump on September 26-27. Additionally, the head of state will meet with Kamala Harris during his visit to the US, as he stated during a meeting with journalists.
He noted that during his visit to the US next week, he will definitely meet with Trump's opponent, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Zelenskyy wants to understand her views on Ukraine’s victory plan.
"As I mentioned earlier, the plan includes not only what is needed from Biden today. It also outlines what the situation will be like after November, with a new president in the US. We need to speak with each candidate and understand their stance on this. I will also speak with Congress. I need their support in this matter," the president explained.
Regarding the meeting with Trump, Zelenskyy said: "Definitely, yes. I’ve seen his media statements, and our teams are in contact. The key is finding the time. I won’t speculate, but I think it will be important for both of us."
According to Zelenskyy, the meeting with Donald Trump will likely take place on September 26-27.
Zelenskyy’s upcoming trip to the US
Next week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will head to the US on a working visit. He will address the UN General Assembly in New York.
Zelenskyy will also meet with US President Joe Biden to present Ukraine’s victory plan. According to Zelenskyy, the plan outlines key actions to be taken between October and December.
Additionally, the Ukrainian president will meet with the leading US presidential candidates, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, to present the victory plan to them as well.
