A new schedule for the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group may be prepared soon. The leadership format of the meeting is particularly important, stated the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a joint press conference with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

The head of state emphasized that the reason for postponing the Ramstein meeting is absolutely clear - the natural disaster in the United States requires President Joe Biden's full attention. Any leader would stay in their country under such circumstances.

"But the leadership format of the Ramstein meeting is especially important. That’s why we understand that a new schedule may be prepared soon," Zelenskyy added.

According to him, it's better to coordinate with partners the implementation of the victory plan at the Ramstein meeting. This primarily concerns military aspects that will strengthen Ukraine on the frontline.

What preceded this

Yesterday, on October 8, the White House announced that US President Joe Biden had postponed his visit to Germany, where he was supposed to chair the Ramstein meeting.

Today, October 9, it was announced that the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group has been postponed. When it will take place is still unknown.

Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the head of the Office of the President, told RBC-Ukraine’s YouTube channel that the meeting could still take place by the end of October.
