President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has decided to dismiss the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Yurii Sodol, according to the President's evening address.

"I have decided to replace the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Yurii Sodol, with Brigadier General Andriy Hnatov," the President emphasized.

The President did not disclose any further details about his decision.

Rumors about Sodol

Yesterday, on June 23, it became known that the headquarters commander of the Azov Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, Bohdan Krotevych, filed a petition to the State Bureau of Investigation, in which he called for an investigation against a Ukrainian combat general.

Krotevych emphasized that this general is launching an investigation against commanders who advance and do not lose ground. The Azov commander did not name him.

Later, the Ukrainian media, citing their sources, wrote that it was the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yurii Sodol.

Sodol was appointed commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine only in February this year. Before that, he was the commander of the Marines of the Ukrainian Navy.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, he was responsible for defense in one of the most difficult areas of the front.
