Zelenskyy proposes to deploy non-nuclear deterrence package on Ukraine's territory to force Russia into peace
Ukraine proposes to deploy a non-nuclear deterrence package on its territory to force Russia to the negotiating table and protect itself from future aggression, says President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the European Council.
He presented a plan for Ukraine's victory to the European Council. The third point of the plan is the non-nuclear deterrence of Russia.
Ukraine proposes to deploy a deterrence package on its territory to force Russia to participate in peace talks or allow for the destruction of its military targets.
According to Zelenskyy, this is a "peace through threats approach", it's about the appropriate missile package.
“We have provided all the details to our partners who can make this happen. These are the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany... Putin should respect our strength, not have the free world tremble at his threats,” the president added.
Zelenskyy's victory plan
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented a plan for Ukraine's victory. It consists of five points and contains three annexes, the content of which is not made public. The Office of the President explained that the annexes refer to weapons and strikes against Russia.
Zelenskyy has already shown his victory plan to US President Joe Biden, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British and Italian Prime Ministers Keir Starmer and Giorgia Meloni.
Today, on October 17, the Ukrainian president arrived in Brussels to present the plan to other European leaders.
