Ukraine will respond to those Russian occupiers who kill Ukrainians in peaceful cities. The necessary weapons are available for this, according to the evening address by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He said that today he awarded state honors to employees of the defense industry. Their professional day was April 13 — the day of the Russian strike on Sumy.

“We have the means to respond to such strikes, and we will not leave the scum who kill our people in peaceful cities unpunished. We have every right to do so. It is absolutely just to respond to murderers in the way they deserve,” the president said.

Zelenskyy stressed that Russia must come to terms with the inevitability of Ukraine’s strength. According to him, true peace can come when “reality forces Russia to accept Ukraine’s capabilities.” This refers to Ukrainian drones, missiles, artillery, and equipment — all of which will defend the country.

The president also thanked the more than 300,000 Ukrainians working in the defense industry.

Strike on Sumy

On April 13, Palm Sunday, Russian forces launched two ballistic missiles at Sumy. They exploded in the city center, where many civilians were present.

As of now, it is known that 35 people were killed in the attack, including an 11-year-old boy and a 17-year-old teenager.

Notably, Russia used a missile with a cluster warhead for the attack, designed to cause as many casualties as possible.

On April 15, it was reported that Ukrainian defenders struck the permanent deployment point of the 448th Missile Brigade of the Russian army in the Kursk region, which was involved in the bombing of Sumy.
