Ukraine is currently at a critical moment, facing intense media frenzy and significant political pressure, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a video address to the Fourth Parliamentary Summit of the Crimean Platform.
"We are at a critical moment. We are working very closely with the United States, European partners, and many others to determine steps that could bring an end to Russia's war against Ukraine and real security for everyone," Zelenskyy said.
The President emphasized the threat posed by Russia, which is attempting to legally formalize its demands on Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, spreading this approach worldwide.
"There is a lot of media furor, a lot of political pressure, and even more responsibility lies in the decision Putin wants to impose - the legal formalization of what he desires: that the principle of territorial integrity and sovereignty is not upheld," the President stressed.
"This is the core problem. We all understand what it means. He wants this not only from Ukraine - he wants it from the whole world. And this is extremely dangerous," he added.
Zelenskyy also reported that, as part of coordination with the US, Ukraine is taking steps to secure the release of all prisoners and the return of kidnapped children.
At the same time, he called on partners to seek compromises that strengthen Ukraine's position rather than weaken it.
"We will continue working with our partners, primarily the United States, seeking compromises that strengthen, not weaken us. And we will continue to explain how dangerous it is to pretend that aggression can be ignored, as if everything is somehow resolved on its own," he said.
The President urged parliaments around the world to support Ukraine and maintain pressure on Russia, including through freezing Russian assets, and stressed the importance of accountability for war crimes.
"The decision to freeze Russian assets is important. I ask you to support this decision. And continue to maintain pressure on Russia, because it kills people every day. Occupied territories remain occupied. This means Russia continues to be an aggressor state," Zelenskyy said.
What is known about the peace plan
US President Donald Trump allegedly approved a 28-point plan to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. The plan was developed with the participation of his special envoy, Keith Kellogg, Vice President JD Vance, Senator Marco Rubio, and others.
According to media reports, the document includes security guarantees for Ukraine that could provide lasting peace.
However, some of the conditions reportedly include concessions, such as control over Donbas, including areas currently under Kyiv's control, reducing the size of Ukraine's armed forces and US military aid, partial recognition of Russian as a state language, and support for the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine.
On Sunday, November 23, negotiations began in Geneva between Ukrainian and US delegations regarding this peace plan, with the goal of ending Russia's war against Ukraine.
