Ukraine is already very close to its goal, namely membership in the North Atlantic Alliance, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"We are very close to our goal," Zelenskyy stated.
He noted that, in his opinion, the next step would be an invitation, and then membership.
"We understand that we will not be in NATO till the war will be in Ukraine. But hope we will prevail," the president emphasized.
Previously, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg named the main reason why Ukraine cannot join NATO now. That is because there is no consensus among the member countries of the Alliance on this issue at the moment.
At the same time, Polish President Andrzej Duda hopes that Ukraine will receive an invitation to NATO at the next summit.
