Zelenskyy on Russia’s attacks: Thousands of drones, bombs hit Ukraine in one week

Russia continues to bombard Ukraine, with most regions coming under attack over the past week, according to the Telegram channel of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Yesterday’s Russian strike on Kharkiv, unfortunately, claimed the lives of two people. My condolences to their families and loved ones. About 30 people were injured, all of whom have received the necessary medical assistance," he said.
A week of Russian attacks
Over the past week, most regions of Ukraine have been targeted. In total, Russia has launched the following attacks across Ukraine in the past week:
- 1,310 guided aerial bombs,
- over 1,000 attack drones, most of them Shaheds,
- nine missiles of various types, including ballistic ones.
Many of these threats were intercepted by air defense forces, mobile fire teams, and other units protecting Ukraine’s skies.
Russia prolongs the war
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is providing its partners with full information about Russian strikes and future threats.
"We expect a response from the United States, Europe, and all our allies to this terror against our people. I am grateful to all leaders and nations that understand this and continue their support," he said.
The president stressed that consistent and predictable aid to Ukraine is crucial.
"I thank every country that helps us with air defense systems and invests in our defense industry. All of this strengthens Ukraine’s protection," he concluded.
Russia’s latest attack on Ukraine
Russian forces launched a new assault on Ukraine overnight on March 30, beginning strikes late on March 29.
The attack was a large-scale, mixed offensive, involving one ballistic missile and 111 drones. Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted most of the drones.
Kharkiv suffered one of the heaviest strikes, where two people were killed and 35 others injured. The attack also affected Kupiansk, leaving more casualties.
In Rodynske, a Nova Poshta delivery truck came under Russian fire, injuring the driver.
Meanwhile, drone strikes hit the Kirovohrad and Cherkasy regions, causing damage but no reported injuries.
