Russia strikes Ukraine with drones and missiles: Air defense intercepts multiple targets

Russia launched 111 drones and a ballistic missile at Ukraine on the night of March 30. Despite the attack from multiple directions, air defense downed more than half of the drones, according to the Air Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"On the night of March 30, the enemy launched a ballistic missile from the Rostov region and 111 Shahed-type attack UAVs, as well as various types of imitator drones," the statement reads.
The drones were launched from five directions: Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Chouda (Crimea).
How air defense responded
The airstrike was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"As of 09:00, it has been confirmed that 65 Shahed-type attack UAVs (and other types of drones) were shot down in the north, south, east, and center of the country," the military reported.
In addition, 65 enemy imitator drones were lost at various locations.
Consequences of the Russian attack on Ukraine
As a result of the Russian attack, the Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, and Donetsk regions were affected.
Specifically, on the evening of March 29, the Russians attacked Kharkiv. As a result of the attack, two people were killed, and 27 were injured.
Russian forces also attacked Kupiansk. Buildings were destroyed in the shelling, and civilians were injured.
Moreover, on the morning of March 30, the occupiers shelled Sloviansk in the Donetsk region. At around 5:00 a.m., the city was once again targeted by an enemy attack. The industrial zone was hit. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
