Zelenskyy on Kyiv HPP dam attack: 'I don't like energy PR very much'
In the matter of the strike on the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant dam, the enemy does not need to know what damage they have inflicted, citing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the "Ukraine 2024. Independence" Forum.
"I'm not a big fan of energy PR. I don't really support when the enemy knows what damage they've caused," the president said.
On the morning of August 26, during a massive shelling by Russian terrorists, as reported by the media, the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant dam became one of the enemy's targets. Later, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrii Kovalenko, stated that "there is no threat." According to him, it is impossible to destroy the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant with missiles, and it should not be compared to the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.
Threats concerning Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant
Recently, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Mariia Zakharova, claimed that Ukraine allegedly plans to destroy the dams of the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant and the Kaniv Reservoir to blame Russian occupiers and receive more Western aid.
Later, Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to Zakharova's statement.
