A peace plan should begin with the willingness to sit down at the table and start a dialogue. However, Russia's strikes on Ukrainian children show that it is not ready for peace, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with journalists in Brussels.

The President shared that Ukraine had discussed with certain partners and good friends the preparation of specific points for ending the war. According to him, the West does not want anyone to propose a Russian peace plan through any third party.

Zelenskyy stressed that, first and foremost, there must be a ceasefire. And if Russia is ready for dialogue, Ukraine is also ready.

"The plan begins not even with a ceasefire, the plan begins with the will to sit and speak. Not to stand and fight, using all kinds of missiles against children. Yesterday, they attacked a kindergarten. The second army of the world is fighting against Ukrainian children. This does not show that they want to stop this war. More pressure on Russia, and they will sit and speak. I think this is the plan," the President emphasized.

Rumors about Europe and Ukraine’s peace plan

On October 21, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that Ukraine and Europe are preparing a 12-point peace plan.

The plan involves a complete ceasefire along the front line and further negotiations on the occupied territories. It also envisions the return of all deported children and the exchange of prisoners.

However, the plan will need to be implemented by a special peace commission led by US President Donald Trump.

Bloomberg claimed that European officials will visit the US this week to discuss the plan. However, it remains unclear whether the initiative will be supported in Washington.
