Zelenskyy on air defense: Kharkiv reinforcement underway
Ukraine has already begun to strengthen air defense over Kharkiv. The next focus will be on other areas, including the Poltava region, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Today, the head of state arrived in the Poltava region for a visit, where he intends to inspect critical infrastructure and enterprises, and promised to do everything to strengthen air defense in the region.
"We have started to reinforce the airspace of Kharkiv, as well as other directions. Today, I am in the Poltava region to inspect critical infrastructure and some enterprises. We will work to do everything to strengthen the air defense system as well," the President emphasized.
Strengthening air defense in Ukraine
Russia continues its missile and drone terror against Ukraine. As a result, Zelenskyy has directed the Ukrainian military command to present an updated structure for Ukraine's air defense operations and to formulate new requests to partners.
To secure the skies over Ukraine, as previously stated by the President, 25 Patriot systems are needed, but the immediate requirement is for 7. This issue was also discussed at the NATO summit, where Ukraine received a commitment from partners to enhance air defense.
Germany has already provided one of these systems to Ukraine. This is the third Patriot from the country. The Netherlands has also announced that it will deliver another system, along with an unnamed country. Additionally, a Patriot system will come to Ukraine from Romania.
