The Office of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, expressed support for US President Donald Trump's decision to deploy nuclear submarines. The move was described as aligning with the concept of "peace through strength," according to a post by Presidential Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak.

"Peace through strength. Looks like Medvedev still doesn't believe that 'vodka' never ends well," Yermak wrote, attaching a screenshot of Trump's social media post.

On August 1, US President Donald Trump announced that he had ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines to regions near Russia. This was the White House's response to threats from the controversial Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev.

Medvedev reacted sharply to Trump's ultimatum to Russia regarding secondary tariffs, writing, among other things, that it was allegedly "a step towards war" between Russia and the United States. In response, Trump emphasized that Medvedev should watch his words, as he is "entering very dangerous territory."

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio mocked the threats made by an associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Rubio noted that nuclear war between the US and Russia is not even "a fathomable thing," adding that without using nuclear weapons, Russia has no chance against the US.
