Zelenskyy names the best protection against enemy’s 'dangerous ideas'

The head of state stressed that weakness could become a precondition for any escalation.
"The enemy clearly understands whether we are strong or weak, whether we have strong Armed Forces in this direction, the appropriate brigades, the necessary number of personnel, weapons, and fortifications, or whether we do not. Because I believe that the presence of personnel protects against any of the enemy’s dangerous ideas," he said.
The president noted that this direction will be reinforced with additional personnel. According to him, intelligence agencies have studied all possible scenarios that could arise and have "even anticipated those that the enemy does not see."
"Across all these directions, we will ensure that people are confident Ukraine is protected, that the Armed Forces are in place, that the necessary weapons are available, and that the required number of personnel are stationed where needed. And even if the enemy is considering potential steps, they will see the forces deployed here, and I think any such desire will fade away," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
According to him, there are already fortifications and additional reinforcements in place, which, the head of state added, also points to additional financial capabilities.
"This also needs to be planned not at the last moment, which is why I very much want to receive complete information. We have now started discussing this with the leadership of the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, and we will have more details and understand what assistance should be provided at the state level," the president said.
Yesterday, Zelenskyy stated that the aggressor country has five scenarios for expanding the war in the Chernihiv-Kyiv direction. The president noted that forces in this area will be increased in light of the potential threat.
For this reason, large-scale security measures began on May 21 in the Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Volyn, and Rivne regions. The Defense Forces and the Security Service of Ukraine are carrying out measures to identify possible saboteurs.
