On Friday, April 4, a meeting of military representatives from countries willing to deploy a military contingent in Ukraine after the war with Russia will take place, this was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, according to Ukrinform.

"As for the contingent issue, we will have a meeting on Friday with military commanders from several countries, a small circle of those who are ready to deploy a contingent (in Ukraine - ed.) in one form or another. Because there is a land component, an air component, and a presence at sea. This will be the first in-depth meeting; earlier there were consultations. I believe we will see some clarifications and details," Zelenskyy said.

According to the president, it is important that this meeting will be based on "prepared positions from the Ukrainian side."

"This decision was made at the last summit in Paris," the head of state added.

Deployment of a military contingent in Ukraine

Recently, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the preparation for a meeting of military representatives regarding the deployment of a military contingent in Ukraine. According to him, the meeting will take place in Kyiv "in a narrow circle."

"A very narrow circle of key countries that will be 100% ready to deploy a contingent on Ukrainian territory. Not all of them will attend; we are inviting a small group – France, the UK, and Ukraine will definitely be there," the president explained.

Recently, the Coalition of the Willing summit was held in Paris. It was announced that France and the UK decided to send a special mission to Ukraine. The mission will focus on strengthening the Ukrainian army.

Later, French President Emmanuel Macron mentioned that a Franco-British team will be sent to Ukraine. However, it is currently unclear who will be part of this team.
