Zelenskyy names allies launching new weapons production to aid Ukraine

Ukraine is negotiating the launch of defense production for our country abroad. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that agreements have already been reached with a number of European countries.
"Denmark is number one. There are positive agreements with Norway, Germany, and, after my last meeting in Canada, probably with Britain. There is a signal from Lithuania, they are very willing. It is also important that we are talking to the private sector," the head of state says.
Zelenskyy informs that this year, Ukraine has found $43 billion in the defense industry. In particular, this is money that comes to support and finance the Ukrainian defense industry.
"For the next year, in principle, there is such a signal to our partners, we want to try to reach 0.25% of the GDP of a partner country to support security, support the defense industry of Ukraine. This means, in principle, the support of the Europeans," the President explains.
He emphasizes that Ukraine is part of Europe's security. Therefore, the Ukrainian side wants 0.25% of the GDP of a partner state to be allocated to Ukraine's defense industry to domestic production.
Weapons production
A week ago, Zelenskyy said that today, Ukraine can produce weapons worth about $30 billion a year. He also noted that production capacity is only 60% utilized.
The President also said yesterday that Ukrainian defense companies are already increasing production of interceptor drones.
"We are working separately on interceptor drones, which should increase protection against the Shahed drones. Several of our domestic enterprises - and, accordingly, types of drones - are showing results," Zelenskyy said.
