Ukraine ramping up production of interceptor drones to stop Russian Shaheds - Zelenskyy

Ukrainian defense enterprises are already increasing the production of interceptor drones to strengthen protection against enemy Shaheds, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his evening address.
"In particular, we are also working on interceptor drones to enhance protection against Shaheds. Several of our domestic enterprises - and thus different drone models - are already showing results," Zelenskyy said.
He added that Ukraine is collaborating with partners to secure more substantial funding.
"And I'm confident it will. Interceptor production volumes are already ramping up," the president noted.
Interceptor drone production
On May 18 the Unmanned Systems Forces reported that for the first time in history, Ukrainian troops destroyed 100 enemy drones using interceptor drones.
Last week, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi ordered improvements to air defense—specifically including interceptor drones. The general issued this directive amid massive drone attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities.
