Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, held a meeting on countering enemy drones that attack Ukraine every night. One of the key tasks to improve air defense is to increase the number of interceptor drones, according to Syryskyi’s statement on Telegram.

"Task number one is to build up and scale the systems that are already proving effective," the commander-in-chief said following the meeting.

Primarily, Ukraine will increase the number of interceptor drones.

As Syrskyi added, the enemy constantly changes the characteristics of their Shaheds and the tactics of their use. The military discussed ways to improve the detection of enemy drones and their timely destruction.

"I set the task and identified priority directions. Our people’s lives, the functioning of critical infrastructure, and the economy of the state as a whole depend on this," Syrskyi stated.

Massive Russian attacks

Since the beginning of summer, Russian invaders have intensified their shelling of Ukraine. The occupiers launch massive drone attacks on Ukraine every night and sometimes also use missiles.

On June 10, Russia launched a massive strike on Kyiv, causing significant damage and casualties. More about the consequences of the attack can be found in the RBC-Ukraine report.

Russia has also increased its strikes on Kharkiv. Last night, 11 hits were recorded in the city, and another Shahed drone failed to explode. The number of injured has risen to 18, including children.

According to Defense Express, recently Russians attempted to attack Kyiv with a new Geran-3 rocket drone, which was shot down by air defense.
