Zelenskyy must make deal to end war – Trump

US President Donald Trump stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will have to make a deal to end Russia's war against Ukraine, the American leader said during a conversation with journalists.
Trump was asked what he would say to Zelenskyy if he met him in New York, where the High-Level Week of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly will take place from September 22 to 30.
"He's going to have to make a deal. Zelenskyy is going to have to make a deal, and Europe has to stop buying oil from Russia," Trump said.
He also added that Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin hate each other.
"And it looks like I have to sit in the room with them, because they can't sit in a room together. There's great hatred there," the American leader said.
He also boasted that his meeting with Putin in Alaska "accomplished a lot."
Putin does not want peace
After the meeting with US President Donald Trump, Russia's massive strikes on peaceful cities in Ukraine only intensified. Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski noted that such attacks indicate that Russia is not ready for peace.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly stated that he is ready to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as only this format of negotiations can bring peace closer.
For his part, the Kremlin leader has also declared his alleged readiness to meet, but no specifics have yet been provided by Moscow.
