Zelenskyy meets with military leadership: Weapons supply discussed
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, Chief of the General Staff Serhii Barhylevych and Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.
At the meeting, they discussed the situation at the front, in particular on the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, Toretsk, and Kupiansk directions, which are currently receiving the most attention.
A separate report was also presented on the Kursk operation and the destruction of Russian forces near the border.
Zelenskyy noted that there have been significant developments in supplies from international partners. An increase in supplies, in particular artillery equipment, was confirmed as part of support packages.
The Defense Minister of Ukraine reported on the supply of Ukrainian-made drones for the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Zelenskyy noted the effectiveness of the approved supply plans and thanked Ukrainian manufacturers for fulfilling orders.
The President instructed to further increase orders for drones to support relevant military operations.
Missile production in Ukraine
In August 2024, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine had used a new drone missile, Palianytsia, a weapon of its production, for the first time.
At the end of October, the head of the permanent Ukrainian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Yehor Chernev, said that some Ukrainian missiles had already been tested. At the same time, he noted that there were some difficulties with the components needed for their production.
Earlier, Oleksii Petrov, director of the state enterprise Spetstechnoexport, said that Ukraine would have its cruise and ballistic missiles by 2025.
