Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the team of US defense company Lockheed Martin during his visit to the United States, according to a statement by Zelenskyy.

"I met with the team of the defense company Lockheed Martin, one of the strongest companies in the United States, with which we have been cooperating for a long time. Lockheed Martin produces ATACMS missiles, HIMARS systems, F-16 fighter jets, and missiles for Patriot air defense systems," the head of state said.

The president said he discussed further expanding cooperation with Ukraine, including joint production and technology sharing.

"Ukraine has valuable experience to share with those helping us protect lives. We discussed our joint capabilities regarding Patriot systems and other defense platforms," Zelenskyy said.

He added that the company's team and Ukrainian specialists are already working on concrete solutions that will allow them to "move to joint production as quickly as possible and expand our capabilities to protect lives."

Earlier today, Zelenskyy said that during talks with US President Donald Trump, he discussed the possibility of launching production of interceptors for Patriot air defense systems in Ukraine.

Notably, during a previous meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump on the sidelines of the NATO summit on July 8, the US president did not rule out allowing Ukraine to establish its own production of Patriot interceptors.
